We now open again at the Goodspeed Theatre in April for 13 weeks and it hit's the road in the fall. Emmet is basically the special I did with the Muppets in the 70's but expanded. We're doing a table read in New York March 3rd and then will open it for a first look this XMas .. | |

When you see me in my quilted red jacket at Santa's side at the north Pole we're actually in somebody's back yard in the San Fernando Valley and the crew is in tee shirts. I hope 'Emmet' develops the kind of life onstage that 'Bugsy Malone' has in England. If it does I'll have a bunch of Christmas songs to record. Maybe ... we'll see | |

For me you ARE that rainbow connection because you take me there emotionally with the beauty of your songs and your singing. I have always enjoyed Kermit singing that song, but only you singing it, Paul, moved me to tears. | |

If someone's going through a divorce or a big breakup I think the place to run with all those emotions is the piano. Of course with the films and musicals the initial inspiration is always the script. But, most of the 'co-dependent anthems' i've written came out of a big big need for love and a need to express it. I think people need privacy while they're healing .. finding their way onto the path back to life. But, I have't seen 'rehab' so i need to save my opinion til I see the show. I take that back .. I actually saw reahab twice .. Once in 87 and agan in 89 :) | |

| bugsy(Q) | What is your opinion of 'talent' shows? American Idol has probably been the most successful in this genere but for the most part it's contestants just fade away (with a few exceptions). | |

To tell you the truth my reality jones is for crime shows. Shhhh. Don't tell anybody but I love 'The First 48" and even 'Cops' .. | |
